WHV | Chapter 3
by ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍʟᴇꜱꜱ_ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍFalse Heat
When Yu Wei came out, the driver was waiting by the road. The moment he saw him approaching, he got out and opened the car door. Just after Yu Wei climbed into the car, Wang Youguang frowned.
“Young Master, did you not put your pheromone-blocking patch on properly?”
He was also an Omega and had known Yu Wei for a long time, so he was especially familiar with his pheromones. Just now, when Yu Wei brushed past him, even the faintest trace of scent had not escaped his sensitive nose. “Your pheromones are leaking. Good thing you didn’t run into an Alpha.”
Yu Wei was still thinking about how to get Shi Ciyan and Yu Song to get along properly. Hearing Wang Shu speaking a bunch of English he did not understand, he casually reached up and rubbed the back of his neck. “I don’t think so.”
These past few days, Wang Shu had kept reminding him to stick a blocker patch on the back of his neck. Yu Wei had looked at that spot in the mirror in a blur, and it was only a slightly raised patch of pale pink skin, like a pimple. The blocker patch Wang Shu talked about looked like a bandage, just a little shorter and a little wider than a Band-Aid, and Yu Wei couldn’t see anything special about it. So when Wang Shu told him he had to put one on to cover the gland at the back of his neck, he did. But who knew that wearing this thing in the middle of summer would be so uncomfortable? He kept wanting to pick it off.
“I’ll get you a new one.”
There was no mirror in the car, so Yu Wei tore off the blocker patch he was wearing and lowered his head, exposing the snow-white skin on the back of his neck, waiting for Wang Youguang to put a new one on for him.
Wang Youguang was nearly thirty years older than Yu Wei. When he first came to the Yu family, little Yu Wei had just entered kindergarten, and from the moment he arrived, he became Yu Wei’s personal driver. After spending more than twenty years together, he was already at the age where retirement was close, and in his eyes Yu Wei was no different from his own son.
He also knew Yu Wei relied on him and had long since treated him like family, which was why he showed him the gland so easily. But even so, the gland was still a private part of the body, and very fragile. Wang Youguang said earnestly, “Young Master, you must not show your gland to just anyone.”
Even so, his hands never stopped moving. He peeled open a fresh pheromone-blocking patch and skillfully贴 it onto Yu Wei.
After it was done, Yu Wei stretched, leaned heavily back into the seat, and closed his eyes to rest. Suddenly, the phone beside him rang like a death knell. With his eyes still closed, Yu Wei groped around for a moment, found the phone, answered it without looking, and put it to his ear. A strange voice came through the receiver.
“Brother Yu Song got into a fight with someone.”
Yu Wei’s eyes flew open. He pulled the phone away and glanced at the screen. He had only added this number less than half an hour ago. Yu Wei put the phone back to his ear, and the shouts and people trying to break things up exploded in his ears.
“I’m coming right away.”
Yu Wei pushed open the car door and got out. He did not even have time to explain things clearly to Wang Shu before striding toward the school gate.
Over the past two days, he had told Yu Song over and over again not to fight at school, not to make enemies. Yu Song had agreed so nicely that Yu Wei had thought there might still be hope for him, but he had not expected that just ten minutes after he left, Yu Song would cause trouble.
The bad nature he had as the vicious cannon fodder in the book would not disappear just because of a few words from him.
Yu Wei jogged all the way to the teaching building, praying in his heart that the person fighting Yu Song was not Shi Ciyan.
He took the stairs two at a time and ran up to the fifth floor. A crowd had gathered in front of 508, and the sound of a beating came from the center of the people. Yu Wei’s steps paused slightly. More than the farce in the dorm, he was concerned about the strong smell of alcohol in the air. Yu Wei felt a little unwell. The back of his neck was hot, his legs were weak, and he frowned slightly, gripping the stair rail to steady himself.
“Brother, you finally came. Go take a look, someone’s going to die.” Qiu Lei had been waiting outside the crowd for Yu Wei. Yu Song in the dorm had gone mad, and anyone who went up to stop him got punched, so no one dared step forward anymore. Qiu Lei had no choice but to ask Yu Wei for help.
Yu Wei’s cheeks were flushed, and his steps were unsteady. Qiu Lei assumed he had run too fast on the way over and was worn out, so he supported him while pushing through the crowd at the dorm entrance and bringing him inside.
The dorm was a complete mess. Yu Song had his back to the door, pinning another roommate to the floor, one arm locked around his throat while the other grabbed the boy’s hair and forced his head up. “You trash, say it again if you dare?”
The boy was already black and blue. He groaned in pain, and when he heard Yu Song, he struggled to say, “You…”
The moment the boy made a sound, Yu Song tightened his arm, choking him harder. “Fuck who? You useless trash, you can’t even beat me with one finger. The only thing you can do is run your mouth. If you have the guts, get up.”
Yu Song sat on him without moving an inch. Beneath him, the boy’s face went pale and then red. “If you have the guts, don’t let me get up.”
“Yu Song…”
Yu Wei walked into the dorm. Seeing the chaotic scene before him, he did not have time to think about the strong smell of alcohol in the air. He let go of Qiu Lei’s supporting hand, shook his head to stay awake, and slowly walked forward. “Yu Song, let him go.”
Yu Song whipped around. The arrogance from a moment ago was instantly doused. When he turned back, his face was full of grievance. “Bro…”
Yu Wei did not say much. He pulled Yu Song up. “Let go of him.”
The very second Yu Song relaxed, the boy who had been pinned under him suddenly erupted. His pheromones burst out wildly, and he raised a fist straight at Yu Wei and Yu Song.
“That’s enough.”
Shi Ciyan, who had been silent the whole time, intercepted the punch in midair.
Just then, someone shouted, “The dorm supervisor is here.”
“Who was fighting while I was just having a meal?” A booming voice came from the doorway. Then a broad, fat man pushed his way through the crowd, glanced around the dorm at the few people inside, his gaze lingering on Lin Yuchi’s face for two seconds, and finally looked at Shi Ciyan, who was still locked in stalemate with him. “Let him go.”
Shi Ciyan did not move. The dorm supervisor said again, “He won’t hit anyone.”
With the supervisor’s guarantee, Shi Ciyan shook off his fist. Lin Yuchi could not help stepping back two paces.
Now that it was not Shi Ciyan fighting with Yu Song, Yu Wei let out a small breath of relief. At the same time, he secretly observed Yu Song’s third roommate. At this moment, even with his face bruised, Lin Yuchi still looked obviously blessed in bone structure, with distinct features and sharp contours. If Shi Ciyan was delicate beauty, then Lin Yuchi had a little more unruliness and masculine energy than him.
One delicate, one masculine. Could Lin Yuchi be the protagonist?
The thought flashed through Yu Wei’s mind, and the next second he saw a pink subtitle that was completely out of place with Lin Yuchi’s grim appearance appear above his head.
[Important character]
Yu Wei had already been feeling light-headed from the smell of alcohol in the air. Seeing the subtitle, his vision went black, and his swaying body tipped backward uncontrollably. A pair of strong arms wrapped around his waist to stop him from falling to the ground.
Looking at the chaos before him, the dorm supervisor had a headache. “Fighting on the very first day of school, what kind of look is that? You two come with me to the duty room and explain yourselves. The rest of you, disperse.”
The dorm supervisor led the two away without allowing any argument. Seeing there was no more spectacle at the door, the crowd dispersed on its own.
“Close the door, open the window.”
Hearing Shi Ciyan’s words, Qiu Lei subconsciously did as he was told. When he turned back after finishing, he saw that Yu Wei, who had still been fine just a moment ago, had collapsed into Shi Ciyan’s arms, breathing rapidly.
Qiu Lei was startled. “Brother, do you have asthma? Where’s your medicine? Hurry up and find the medicine…”
Asthma?
Did I have asthma?
Had his coworkers ever mentioned that?
Yu Wei was having trouble breathing, his head hazy. The burning sensation at the pimple on the back of his neck grew stronger and stronger, and heat kept spreading through his body. If he had not eaten breakfast at home, Yu Wei would have suspected someone had drugged him.
He struggled to push Shi Ciyan away and stumbled into the bathroom, cupping cold water in both hands and splashing it onto his burning face.
Qiu Lei was just about to follow him into the bathroom when Shi Ciyan was faster. He stepped in first and blocked the doorway. “Go buy an Omega suppressant.”
“Heat period?” Qiu Lei was a Beta, but he had taken physiology class in high school, so he knew the basics. If Yu Wei really entered heat in this dorm building, the consequences would be unthinkable.
“No. Lin Yuchi released pheromones while fighting, and they affected him.”
Omegas had a natural fear of an Alpha’s pheromones if the compatibility was low, and they would instinctively try to escape. But if the pheromone compatibility was high, they would be drawn in by the pheromones and could very likely be triggered into false heat.
And right now, Yu Wei’s condition was clearly the latter.
Yu Wei and Lin Yuchi had high pheromone compatibility. He did not reject Lin Yuchi’s pheromones, and he had even entered false heat. Even with the blocker patch on, the pheromones were still leaking out.
Shi Ciyan sent Qiu Lei away and closed the bathroom door. The bathroom door had been shut the whole time, so the concentration of Alpha pheromones inside was not high. But in less than ten seconds, it was filled with the sweet scent of an Omega.
Yu Wei was curled up on the cold tile floor, writhing unconsciously. His shirt had been yanked open roughly, two buttons popping off, and his snow-white skin was exposed to the air. The pale pink at his chest trembled as if it were weakly beckoning toward the doorway, his entire body exuding an enticing aura. Shi Ciyan stood at the door and looked down at him.
Yu Wei’s small face was flushed all the way to his collarbone. His bright eyes were now filled with moisture, his pupils unfocused, the corners of his eyes red. He looked blankly toward the doorway, tears sliding down from the corners of his eyes and disappearing into his temples.
He wanted to crawl toward the doorway, but his body would not obey him, soft and limp on the floor. Like someone drowning, his limbs had grown heavy. No matter how he struggled, it was all useless.
Shi Ciyan slowly walked to his side, crouched down, and lifted him up so that Yu Wei was held against his chest. His narrow eyes stayed locked on Yu Wei’s face as the pad of his thumb brushed away the tears hanging from Yu Wei’s long lashes. His fingertip traced over the corner of Yu Wei’s eye and continued downward, barely touching his burning cheek.
Yu Wei’s breathing was ragged, his eyes soft and laden with desire. He tilted his head back. His slender neck was like flawless jade, blue veins winding along it, and the pulse at the side of his neck fluttered faintly with every breath, like a butterfly spreading its wings.
“So pitiful.” Shi Ciyan stroked his neck. His palm slid around to the back of Yu Wei’s neck, touching the swollen gland through the pheromone-blocking patch.
Yu Wei’s gland was swollen and hot. Shi Ciyan pressed the bump slightly with his fingertip. “Does his pheromone smell good?”
The person in his arms let out a whimper, his body going soft as water as he shrank into Shi Ciyan’s embrace, trembling nonstop.
“Do you like his pheromones?”
The only answer he got was Yu Wei’s pained moan.
Shi Ciyan looked at him expressionlessly. Then suddenly, with his fingertips, he pinched the corner of the pheromone-blocking patch and ripped it off with a sharp hiss, exposing the gland completely to the air. Without the patch to block it, pheromones rushed out in a frenzy, quickly spreading to every corner of the airtight bathroom.
A sweet banana scent, mixed with a touch of apple and melon fragrance, made it hard to tell what Yu Wei’s pheromones actually smelled like. But whatever the scent was, it could make people feel happy.
For example, right now, watching Yu Wei fall into false heat and still fail to get any comfort, a secret thrill rose in his heart.
Yu Wei had lost all awareness by now. His whole face was red, clothes in disarray as he wriggled in Shi Ciyan’s arms. Gradually, he clung to Shi Ciyan’s shoulders and, in a kneeling posture, hugged him tightly. His hands groped around Shi Ciyan’s body instinctively, his face buried in the crook of his neck. His soft, hot cheek rubbed against Shi Ciyan’s neck, and his wet lips brushed his earlobe. When he still received no response, a dissatisfied whimper escaped from his lips.
Shi Ciyan held Yu Wei’s waist loosely to keep him from losing his balance and falling, letting him make trouble as he pleased. The wave of pleasure rising in his chest kept coming, higher and higher with each swell. Heat spread from his neck through his entire body, and even his gland seemed to be faintly heating up.
