    Chapter 48

Zhou Zeqi put the last piece of steak into his mouth and chewed slowly. "That might affect tomorrow's high jump."

Xi Shui looked at the river and said sheepishly, "But I really want to try being on top."

    Zhou Zeqi: "…"

    "Then try it."

Zhou Zeqi took Xi Shui to buy clothes. Xi Shui was a little drunk, but not so drunk that he couldn't still stand in front of row after row of hanging racks and pick things out.

It was only when he pointed at a white shirt and said, "This yellow one is nice," that the sales assistant accompanying him finally looked startled and noticed the strong smell of alcohol all over the little customer.

    "Do you have yellow ones?"

The sales assistant was confused. "This style doesn't come in yellow, but another style does have a goose-yellow version. It's limited edition, are you a member? Only members can…"

Zhou Zeqi made a call for him and handed the phone over.

The sales assistant's attitude immediately became more respectful. After hanging up, she hurried off to fetch the clothes.

Xi Shui held the store's juice and took a sip. "Isn't your family a sports company?"

"My aunt is a fashion designer, and she's not part of my family anyway," Zhou Zeqi replied.

They carried the clothes out of the mall. After turning a corner and walking a short distance, they reached Second Uncle Zhou's hotel. The front desk was manned by his younger son, who had just finished the college entrance exam and was working a summer job. Zhou Zeqi tapped the counter, and he jumped.

"Brother! Why are you here? Wait, let me finish this game!"

Zhou Zeqi reached out and snatched the phone from his hand. "Get it done now, or I'll tell your dad you're playing games at work."

"Ah!" He stomped a foot. Only after stomping did he notice Xi Shui, who was looking at him seriously. He was inside the desk, so he couldn't see his cousin holding hands with Xi Shui. His face instantly turned so red it looked ready to explode. "H-hi."

"Is it, is it a standard room?"

Seeing him like that, Zhou Zeqi's tone turned displeased. "A suite. Give me the card."

"What suite…" Zhou Yu met Zhou Zeqi's half-smiling, half-not-smiling gaze, and felt a chill down his back. He hurriedly took out a card, processed the check-in, and handed it over. "Done."

By the time Xi Shui, still hand in hand with Zhou Zeqi, had walked off, Zhou Yu finally realized his cousin and the other person had been holding hands. Ah, so this was the cousin's boyfriend his mom had been praising to the skies.

The hotel by the river had floor-to-ceiling windows in the suite, giving a full view of the river.

As soon as Xi Shui walked in, he threw himself onto the bed. "Dizzy."

Zhou Zeqi put the clothes on the cabinet. One lamp after another lit up. He thought Xi Shui was going to fall asleep the same way he had last time, and he wasn't surprised. He was already used to Xi Shui doing whatever came to mind.

Zhou Zeqi grabbed the hem of his clothes and yanked them up in one motion from bottom to top, then took a bathrobe and went into the bathroom for a five-minute shower.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw Xi Shui standing outside.

His eyes were bright, and behind him was a full-length mirror. Zhou Zeqi looked into it and realized Xi Shui was only wearing a shirt, while he had already taken off his pants.

"I'll dance for you to watch."

Xi Shui grabbed Zhou Zeqi's hand and pressed him down onto the sofa.

The hem of the shirt was loose. As he moved, the corners of the fabric rippled and surged like white snow waves.

Xi Shui's soles touched the dark gray long-pile wool carpet. Zhou Zeqi's throat went dry, and his fingers curled loosely on the sofa. His knuckles were already stiff.

The stage floor and the hotel carpet were of course not the same. Xi Shui's steps were messy, because the carpet kept him from turning, the space wouldn't let him leap, and he couldn't glide either, but his posture was elegant and beautiful. Even drunk, he still made sure not a single movement of his fingers was off.

Xi Shui had long, slender, straight legs, with smooth muscle lines. Even with the alcohol in him, his movements still carried force, just a little softer than usual.

Zhou Zeqi took Xi Shui's hand and pulled him close. Holding Xi Shui's fingers, taking advantage of the fact that Xi Shui was drunk, he said hoarsely, "I really like you."

Xi Shui was focused on his feet. He stepped on the top of Zhou Zeqi's foot. Zhou Zeqi wasn't dark-skinned, but when their skin tones collided, it was like chocolate meeting milk.

"Because I dance well?" Xi Shui reached out and rubbed Zhou Zeqi's face.

"Not entirely," Zhou Zeqi said. It seemed he had never really said why he liked Xi Shui. "I like you even more when you're offstage, but I can't really explain why. I don't know how to tell you either. The same sentence, the same thing, when you say it, when you do it, it's different from when someone else says it or does it."

The room wasn't very brightly lit. The light fell on Xi Shui's face, and Zhou Zeqi's gaze grew heavy. "Xi Shui, I was the one who got drawn to you." So no matter what Xi Shui did, he felt it was good, very good.

Xi Shui lowered his eyes. "Mm, I know."

Zhou Zeqi laughed softly. He leaned forward and opened the drawer of the cabinet. Hotels usually prepared these things, and although this suite was meant specifically for the family, everything was fully stocked.

"Come here." With one arm, Zhou Zeqi lifted Xi Shui up. Xi Shui felt a wave of dizziness, but he didn't vomit.

Everything was done with Zhou Zeqi's help. Xi Shui only knew how to make soft little sounds.

Until he finally got to the step Xi Shui had been wanting to get to all along.

He struggled, but couldn't get away.

In the end, Zhou Zeqi still had to help.

A ship on the river let out a long, drawn-out horn. The night wind shifted from warm to refreshingly cool.

Xi Shui was exhausted to the point of collapse. He had already been drunk to begin with, and now he was even more out of it.

After Zhou Zeqi helped him wash up, he carried him out. Xi Shui rested his head on Zhou Zeqi's shoulder and mumbled something under his breath.

Zhou Zeqi listened carefully and heard him muttering, full, full, that's enough, that's enough.

    "…"

Xi Shui's competition was in the afternoon. When he woke up, it was already noon. The sunlight was blinding, and the curtains hadn't been closed tightly. He subconsciously shut his eyes and turned over to avoid it, only to roll straight into Zhou Zeqi's arms.

    Xi Shui blinked.

Then he remembered what happened last night.

So he really was on top?

It was about the same as the first time, except this time his waist was aching badly. His hips were fine, anyway he often stretched there when dancing, but his waist really was a little sore.

Zhou Zeqi was awake too. He laid a hand on Xi Shui's lower back and held him even tighter.

Xi Shui was just about to speak when Zhou Zeqi pounced over and kissed him.

He bit his lip. Xi Shui gasped and opened his mouth, and the other man's tongue slid in at once. Xi Shui's kissing skills weren't as good as Zhou Zeqi's, but even if they had been, they still couldn't have stopped Zhou Zeqi's wild, forceful advance.

Xi Shui had forgotten. Zhou Zeqi had morning grumpiness.

He was forced to stay and sleep with Zhou Zeqi for another hour before getting up. While Xi Shui was washing up, Zhou Zeqi had breakfast sent up.

The person who came was Zhou Yu.

Zhou Zeqi frowned. "Why is it you again?"

Zhou Yu squeezed in with a grin. "I'm working, summer job. Of course I have to be diligent, or else my dad won't give me pocket money."

Zhou Zeqi yawned, directly took off the bathrobe on the outside, and started getting dressed. Zhou Yu stared at Zhou Zeqi's abs and chest, then looked at himself, and felt a little sour. "How do you train like that?"

    "By dancing shèhuì yáo[[1]]."

"Really?" Zhou Yu actually believed it. A few seconds later, he realized Zhou Zeqi was making fun of him, because he'd once filmed himself shaking his hands in a flower pattern at home and his dad had posted it to the family group chat. "Ahhh, cousin, can you not tease me?"

"Where's your boyfriend? I still haven't introduced myself to him yet." Zhou Yu was still thinking about Xi Shui.

Zhou Zeqi put on his pants, bit off the tag from the new clothes, and pulled the shirt down over his head in a sloppy motion. He glanced at Zhou Yu. "You want to die?"

Zhou Yu immediately caved. "I just think he's handsome."

    "Am I not handsome?"

"I've seen your face so much since I was little that I'm sick of it."

After Xi Shui finished washing up and came out of the bathroom, he froze a little when he found another person in the room. Zhou Yu darted over in a few quick steps, unbelievably enthusiastic. "Hello, hello, I'm Zhou Yu, Zhou Zeqi's cousin, eighteen this year, hobby is stanning stars with his mom."

"Hello, I'm Xi Shui." Xi Shui remained very calm.

Zhou Zeqi called him over to eat.

Xi Shui ate a sandwich and looked at Zhou Zeqi, then at Zhou Yu.

He felt like Zhou Zeqi was the kind of fierce big wolfdog, while Zhou Yu was a chihuahua.

"I want to add Xi Shui on WeChat," Zhou Yu said.

    "No." Zhou Zeqi refused mercilessly.

Zhou Yu was unconvinced. "Why not? We're family!"

Zhou Zeqi looked at Xi Shui and laughed. "Then ask him if he's willing."

Xi Shui sat in the chair, not understanding why the topic had somehow dragged him into it again. Zhou Yu handed over his phone. "Add me on WeChat?"

Zhou Yu said, "If you come stay here in the future, I'll open this suite for you too. There's also a French restaurant downstairs, you can eat there for free."

Zhou Yu said, "I'll add you to our family's family group chat."

Xi Shui felt this was too exaggerated. He had just opened his mouth to say it wasn't necessary when he met Zhou Zeqi's dark, unreadable gaze, with not a trace of a smile in it.

The next second, Xi Shui nodded.

After breakfast, after adding WeChat, after joining the family group chat, Zhou Yu sent them off to the hotel entrance with excellent manners.

Zhou Zeqi held Xi Shui's hand and asked Zhou Yu, "Picked a major yet?"

"I want to do art, but my dad won't let me. I'm still arguing with him."

"Doesn't your brother already run the hotel?"

"Yeah, but my dad said he's afraid my brother might suddenly work himself to death someday, so he has to make a backup plan. I'm that backup plan."

Zhou Zeqi: "…Your dad should die before your brother does."

"My dad says that's not certain, because he found out my brother works during the day, works overtime at night, and is still playing King of Glory deep into the night, so he's worried he'll work himself to death."

    "…"

Only after getting in the car did Xi Shui finally get a chance to talk to Zhou Zeqi. He touched his neck. "Did you bite my neck last night?"

Zhou Zeqi paused slightly. "Couldn't help it."

"Why do you like biting people like a dog?" Xi Shui muttered under his breath.

"I let you be on top. You let me bite once, that's fair," Zhou Zeqi said openly.

    Xi Shui: "…"

The sports meet continued at eight in the morning.

Wu Fengyi wasn't in charge of the track events today. He was in charge of the high jump, which he had specially applied for. Zhou Zeqi couldn't get that assignment. His main job was to wander around and meddle in everything.

At first he thought Zhou Zeqi and Xi Shui would come early to keep him company, but in the end the two of them didn't show up until twenty minutes before the competition, strolling over at a leisurely pace.

And they were wearing matching tops.

Lin Xiaojin was there too. He was doing long jump later and was still waiting to be called, clutching a bottle of water and drinking nonstop. He was nervous, but even more afraid he'd pee halfway through his jump.

"Xiao Xi!" Seeing Xi Shui, Lin Xiaojin jumped up excitedly. Only after Xi Shui came over did he suppress his excitement and curiosity and ask, "What did you guys do last night?"

Meng Kewen, standing nearby, said, "Wasn't that a pointless question? Did you go out to play pat-a-cake?"

Xi Shui looked at Zhou Zeqi and was about to answer when Zhou Zeqi covered his mouth and dragged him away from the gossip zone.

Zhou Zeqi didn't even need to think to guess what Xi Shui was about to say.

    We did the thing!

    And I was on top!
