MZ ⋆ Chapter 2
by 🐳ᴍᴀᴍᴀ_ᴡʜᴀʟᴇʏ“Ding ling ling….” With the sound of the bell, a black-haired young man walked through the door of the Kaka Dessert Parlor. Beneath a pale yellow round cap, his short hair fluttered in the breeze. He wore a blue shirt layered with a white short-sleeved undershirt, and at first glance, he gave off an approachable air.
Unfortunately, the brim of the cap was pulled too low to see the face of its wearer clearly. Only a pair of pressed lips were visible beneath it. The newcomer did not hesitate at all and walked straight inside without pause.
Following the corresponding table number, he arrived at the assigned location. Yan Ye’s line of sight caught sight of a pair of black boots. The owner of these shoes immediately stood up from the seat. Yan Ye slowly lifted his head, and after removing his cap, he could finally see the appearance of the person standing beside the table.
Gu Runze, who had been gazing out the window, suddenly came back to his senses, and the image of his beloved appeared in his eyes. He immediately stood up. “Your Highness, hello. I am Gu Runze.” He said this and immediately extended his hand.
Looking at the extended hand, Yan Ye placed his cap on the table.
“Oh, hello. My name is Yan Ye. I… am very happy… to meet you.” In the instant when their hands clasped together, feeling the warmth transmitted from the other’s palm, the shameless Yan Ye’s face immediately flushed red. The words that had been coming naturally now became difficult, and he began to stammer.
After sitting down, Yan Ye did not dare to look at Gu Runze. His eyes wandered everywhere, never settling carefully on him. Watching the little Yan Ye before him who was so restrained, Gu Runze shook his head to himself and smiled softly.
“Your Highness, what would you like to drink?” The sudden question brought Yan Ye back to his senses. He glanced at the person across from him.
“Um, just a glass of water is fine.” After saying this, he turned his head away again and immediately fixed his gaze on the window outside, watching the people coming and going.
After that, Yan Ye and Gu Runze chatted on and off. Basically, it was Gu Runze who brought up topics, and Yan Ye simply followed along with the conversation.
“The water’s gone. Ah, I want to go home. What do I do?” Holding the empty cup in his hand, Yan Ye’s gaze gradually became unfocused.
“How am I supposed to tell him? Ugh, this is so annoying.” Sitting in his seat, Yan Ye looked at the empty chair across from him. The person opposite had said he was going to the restroom, but Yan Ye had no idea why he had been gone for so long.
“Sigh, this is so agonizing!” Having completely given up on conversation, Yan Ye rested his chin on the table. His posture became languid, and his hands lay flat on the table surface.
Suddenly, a shadow fell across the cup. Yan Ye looked up, and his gaze met Gu Runze’s lowered eyes. Gu Runze’s pupils were brown, unlike his own black eyes. Those brown pupils seemed to be filled with starlight, making one unable to help but sink into them.
“Your Highness, Your Highness.” Gu Runze waved his hand in front of Yan Ye’s eyes, trying to call back the dazed Yan Ye. However, he did not know that Yan Ye was actually captivated by those eyes of his.
“Ah, sorry, I was just… a bit distracted. Did something happen?”
Looking at Yan Ye as he came back to his senses, a blush had appeared on his cheeks. His eyes were round and wide, like a cute little cat with its fur standing on end. Even so, in my heart, the little cat still cannot compare to my little Yan Ye.
Thinking of this, Gu Runze could not help but laugh. The corners of his eyes curved upward, and the corners of his mouth shifted slightly. His entire face became gentle, and in an instant, he captivated Yan Ye all over again.
“I’m truly damned. I’ve actually been captivated by a smile.” Yan Ye looked at the person before him. Just one smile possessed such tremendous charm.
Although conversing with Gu Runze gave the impression of warmth and gentleness, Gu Runze’s appearance leaned toward something sharp and angular. Combined with the fact that Gu Runze rarely smiled, the sudden display of a smile was like a flower bud suddenly blooming in such a stunning way.
Looking at Yan Ye as he came back to his senses, Gu Runze apologetically explained the reason. There had been a sudden urgent matter at the Military Department, and he had to go back to handle it. He was very sorry that today’s date could only end here.
Hearing this, Yan Ye’s heart felt like firecrackers bursting in the sky with joy. He could finally go home. But Yan Ye still had to put on an act, saying that he was also sorry, expressing his understanding, and even urging Gu Runze to hurry and get to work.
Originally, Yan Ye had planned to go home by himself, but Gu Runze repeatedly insisted that he was not at ease letting him go home alone.
“Come on, I came here by myself today anyway.” Although he thought this in his heart, he also knew that they had not become close enough for him to say such things. It was better to just complain about it in his mind.
In the end, Gu Runze used the excuse that he would face punishment from the Male Protection Association if he did not escort Yan Ye home, successfully playing the victim and managed to send Yan Ye back to his home. He then returned to the Military Department himself.
