“The Young Miss really has woken up.”

    “My goodness…”

Amid the hushed whispers of the crowd, Yeon sat blankly on her bed, her expression utterly dazed. Just then, a man pushed his way through the gathering onlookers and stepped forward.

    “Yeon-ah are you alright?”

The man who spoke so gently possessed piercing intense eyes. Yet despite his sharp gaze his overall impression was soft and warm, the textbook definition of a gentle giant.

As Yeon blinked at him, his name and a brief summary of his background naturally surfaced in her mind.

Hwangbo Jeong-gun. The Head of the Hwangbo Clan, and Hwangbo Yeon’s father.

The moment she recognized him, the memories belonging to the original owner of this body came rushing in. It was like a torrent bursting through a collapsed dam. Yeon pressed a hand to her forehead as a sharp headache flared from the sudden sensory overload.

    “Ugh…”

    “Yeon-ah!”

Hwangbo Jeong-gun cried out frantically. For someone with such a massive build, he looked utterly helpless and frantic.

Meanwhile, Yeon did her best to absorb the influx of memories. Everything from Hwangbo Yeon’s childhood up until the moment she became bedridden. Scenes she had never witnessed before found their place in her mind, seeping into the empty cracks of her consciousness.

It felt as though she was recovering long-forgotten memories. Events that had never occurred in Yeon’s actual life transformed into vivid, firsthand experiences. It was a bizarre phenomenon, unlike anything she had ever felt.

Hwangbo Jeong-gun spoke again, trying his best to sound calm.

“You’ve been bedridden for so long, it’s only natural that you don’t feel like yourself yet. Please, do not overexert yourself.”

He was a middle-aged man she had officially met for the first time today, yet Yeon couldn’t shake the deep-seated feeling that he was her father. To be precise he was Hwangbo Yeon’s father but having fully integrated the girl’s memories, Yeon could no longer easily draw a line between herself and the original owner.

It was as if two distinct identities were coexisting. While Yeon’s original personality was undoubtedly dominant, she desperately needed some time alone to sort through this mess.

“Yeon ah.. to think you would truly wake up…”

Overwhelmed with emotion, Hwangbo Jeong-gun choked on his words. A muffled sound closely resembling a weeping bear followed shortly after.

As a solemn heavy silence fell over the room, Yeon, the only one entirely disconnected from the emotional gravity of the moment, finally spoke up.

“Um… so what you’re saying is… I am Hwangbo Yeon, right?”

When she asked for reconfirmation, the young maid who had dropped the medicinal broth earlier quickly stepped forward to answer.

“Of course you are, Young Miss!”

The cute youthful girl’s name was So-jin. Only now did Yeon realize through her new memories that this girl had been serving her since they were children.

    “So-jin…”

    “Yes, Young Miss! It’s me, So-jin. Sniff…”

Her face flushing red, So-jin wiped at her eyes with her sleeve. She was shedding the tears that the Clan Head, Hwangbo Jeong-gun, couldn’t bring himself to show in front of his subordinates.

A wave of tender emotion washed over everyone in the room. Well everyone except the actual person of interest, Yeon.

“Could you… give me some space for a moment?”

Swallowing the words ‘I need time to think’ Yeon stammered out a plausible excuse instead.

“I only just woke up so…”

At those words, Hwangbo Jeong-gun hurriedly began ushering the crowd out of the room.

“Ah, where are my manners? Yes of course you need rest. Everyone, clear the room! I will personally check on Yeon-ah’s condition later.”

    “Understood, Clan Head.”

    “We shall do exactly that.”

The crowd shuffled out as quickly as they had arrived. It was a rather anti-climactic reaction, considering the sole daughter of the family had just risen from her deathbed but Yeon didn’t have the luxury to care about that right now.

Only after Hwangbo Jeong-gun finally stepped out was Yeon able to clear her head and process the situation.

    “So… I’m really Hwangbo Yeon?”

“Of course you are, Young Miss. If you aren’t Hwangbo Yeon, then who else would you be?”

The one offering this proud reassurance was So-jin, who had stayed behind just in case her miss needed anything. Yeon stared at her for a moment before speaking.

“So-jin do you happen to have a mirror?”

“Yes, Young Miss. We have a small one and a big one over there. You always used to…”

Leaving the chattering So-jin behind, Yeon walked over and stood in front of the mirror. A pure elegant-looking girl both unfamiliar and intimately known stared right back at her.

In the novel, Hwangbo Yeon was described as a slender beauty with skin as fair as the first snow. The book had praised her radiant appearance as a “lone, flawless jade plum blossom” and seeing it in person, the description fit her to a T.

They called her the Greatest Beauty of Shandong, didn’t they?

On top of that, she was remarkably tall. Even by Yeon’s modern standards the girl was statuesque and had a striking, leggy silhouette.

According to the novel, the members of the Hwangbo Clan were famous for their massive, sturdy builds. Hwangbo Yeon had inherited the best of those genetics, she possessed a slender waist paired with a surprisingly voluptuous figure. It was a stark contrast to Yeon’s original body, which was compact and wiry, this was a dream physique.

But wait… doesn’t transmigration usually happen to the heroine or a major villainess? Hwangbo Yeon is…

Yeon racked her brain, digging up the plot of Martial Supreme:The Peak of Martial Arts. The Hwangbo Yeon she knew wasn’t even close to being a heroine, she was a mere extra. Despite her prestigious background and breathtaking looks, she possessed a fatal flaw for a martial artist.

    She was incredibly, hopelessly faint-hearted.

Hwangbo Yeon literally could not bring herself to use martial arts against another human being. Forget wielding a sword she couldn’t even swing a fist.

That might have been fine in peaceful times, but according to the plot, the martial world was about to plunge into utter chaos with the rise of Cult of Baehwa, enveloping the land in war.

Hwangbo Yeon’s role was to be dragged around by the tides of fate before ultimately dying in an insidious conspiracy. Her death would break the Clan Head, Hwangbo Jeong-gun, causing the entire Hwangbo Clan to fall into ruin and suffer total annihilation.

Of course, a powerhouse like the Hwangbo Clan wasn’t the type to fall so easily. There were a few critical factors that triggered their downfall, namely…
