EHTM | Chapter 2 – Shen Donghuan, You Will Be Mine
by loveandlghtXie Shu tossed his empty glass to Ren Zhou and headed straight for Shen Donghuan.
Ren Zhou was stunned. What did Xie Shu just say?
He wanted Shen Donghuan?
No way, Xie Shu has a thing for his sister-in-law?
And he had just returned to the country… Could it be that he came back as soon as he heard his older brother was cheating, just to steal his brother’s wife?
In the dim light, Xie Shu saw the tear stains glistening on Shen Donghuan’s pale face.
It reminded him of three years ago, outside the emergency room. Inside, his severely injured brother, Xie Yuming, lay unconscious after the car accident. Outside, Shen Donghuan stood in her white wedding dress, silently crying, her face filled with worry.
She had looked so heartbreaking.
Xie Shu’s heart tightened. Without thinking, he reached out and wiped away her tear with the back of his hand.
“Sister-in-law, you look so pitiful crying like this. My brother treats you so badly, do you want me to help you divorce him?”
Shen Donghuan was startled by the sudden touch. The noise around her brought her back to her senses. She quickly slapped his hand away and lifted her delicate face, rejecting him firmly.
“Xie Shu, whether I divorce your brother or not is between me and him. It’s none of your business, and I don’t need your help.”
She barely knew Xie Shu, this newly returned brother-in-law.
All she knew was that he had a terrible reputation, a notorious playboy. His family had sent him abroad years ago because they couldn’t control him, leaving him to fend for himself.
Over the past three years, Xie Yuming had warned her many times to stay away from Xie Shu.
Xie Shu looked at his slapped hand, raised an eyebrow, and casually put his hands in his pockets, keeping some distance.
“Sister-in-law, if you ever want a divorce and need my help, just ask. I’ll definitely help you.”
As if remembering something, the corner of his mouth curled up. “After all, a woman as amazing as you deserves better than my brother.”
Shen Donghuan wiped away her tears, grabbed a glass of strong liquor from the bar, and downed it in one gulp.
The alcohol hit her hard. She narrowed her beautiful eyes and looked at Xie Shu.
“Your brother isn’t good enough for me? Then who is good enough?”
Xie Shu deliberately sat down next to her, ordered a drink, and clinked his glass against hers.
“Me.”
He leaned in slightly, his warm breath brushing against her ear as if he were whispering a temptation.
“Sister-in-law, since my brother cheated on you in front of your face and you don’t want a divorce, why don’t you find someone to cheat with too, just to get back at him?”
Shen Donghuan’s ears turned red, and she bit her lower lip, quickly pulling away from Xie Shu.
“Xie Shu, I’m your sister-in-law! What nonsense are you talking about?!”
Just then, her phone rang. She looked down and saw it was a call from Xie Yuming’s assistant.
Ignoring Xie Shu, she answered the call and walked out of the bar.
Xie Shu watched her leave, lit a cigarette, and exhaled smoke into the dim light. A faint smile played on his lips.
“Shen Donghuan, you will be mine eventually.”
Outside the bar, the cold night wind slapped Shen Donghuan’s face, sobering her up.
She forced a perfect, polite smile. “Assistant Li, it’s late. Is there something urgent?”
The next second, Xie Yuming’s deep, magnetic voice came through the phone.
“Shen Donghuan, Lingling was startled. The doctor said she needs rest for the baby’s sake. I’ve arranged for her to stay in the master bedroom of our home. She doesn’t want to see you, so don’t come back for the next few days. Stay at a hotel.”
Before she could respond, he hung up.
Shen Donghuan stared at the black screen, her smile frozen, her eyes filled with pain.
So Xie Yuming hated her so much that he was kicking her out of their home.
Shen Donghuan stayed out all night. The next morning, she returned home.
As soon as she walked in, she saw the servants bustling around, the house in chaos.
From upstairs, Fu Ling’s arrogant laughter echoed.
“Take down the wedding photos of Yuming and Shen Donghuan. Replace them with my favorite painting.”
Shen Donghuan walked in to see Fu Ling, unharmed, rubbing her belly as she ordered the servants to take down the wedding photos of her and Xie Yuming.
“Who gave you permission to touch my wedding photos?!”
Fu Ling heard Shen Donghuan’s angry voice but showed no fear. She playfully tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Sister, Yuming said he’s letting me stay in this room so I can rest properly. He also said I could decorate it however I like. I found the wedding photos a bit… annoying, so I had the servants replace them.”
She smirked, as if mocking Shen Donghuan. “Sister, you’re not having second thoughts, are you?”
Fu Ling acted like an innocent flower, but her words were sharp and cruel. Shen Donghuan’s heart filled with displeasure.
She coldly set her face, not even sparing Fu Ling a glance. Instead, she looked at the servants moving the things.
“What’s going on? I was gone for one night, and you’re already helping this home-wrecking mistress move into my master bedroom. Do you all think I’m already dead?”
